System Centre Essentials (SCE) 2007 stopeed working after domain migration
Hi, I have a w2k3 server running SCE 2007 quite happily for over a year, however after I removed it from the domain, joined it to a new domain, then put it back again (eg back to where it was originally) it errors and I can't even log in to the console. It is continuing to send over 100 email alerts per day but none of the clients are able to use the WSUS updates as WSUS itself isn't working. Error Message when trying to access the UI: Date: 11/03/2011 14:52:12 Application: System Center Essentials Application Version: 6.0.1885.0 Severity: Error Message: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1). error CS2001: Source file 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\fmlh885u.0.cs' could not be found error CS2008: No inputs specified

Hello, SCE 2007 does not support the migration between domains or change the domain name after it was installed. When you change it back to the original domain, please make sure it uses the same: 1. FQDN name/IP Address. 2. User name with same priviledge(a local administrator or a domain administrator). Hi, Thanks for the reply. The server has some other tools installed which were used on the second domain not SCE. No changes were made to anything SCE related but as I mentioned above, I cannot login to the system at all, so can't check which accounts it is using. Doesn't appear to be anything under windows services I can check either. The FQDN machine name, ip address are still the same also. thanks

Hi, What is the user who excuting the SCE console? Is it still a domain administrator or a local administrator? Does it have the full control permissions to the "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\" folder? Yes, still both a domain admin and local admin. also has access to Windows\temp, however the temp file it is looking for is not there. Each time I try to open SCE console, it reports the same error as originally posted as above, but the name of the temp file changes each time but still doesn't exist at that location. All of the files that it is looking for are .cs Lee

Try this and let us know 1) navigate to %Windir%\Temp directory. 2) Give the ‘NT Authority\Network Service’ user, the ‘List Folder Contents’ as well as ‘Read’ permission.Ketan Thakkar | Microsoft Online Community Support
