There is not an x64 version of SQL Express, therefore to use SQL Express you would need to install on an x32 server. For x64 you need full SQL 2005 on either the local or a remote server. HTH, Tim

I've installed full SQL 2005 server with reporting services and I still get the same answer. Where can I paste an printscreen of the error?

You have SQL 2005 STD x64 installed on the local machine and it doesn't let you selectthat instancewhen installing SCE2007?

Did you apply SP1 to SQL 2005? If not, do so and try again.
August 18th, 2007 8:00pm

Yes, I installed SQL 2005 STD x64 (with Reporting Services) and get the same screen during the installation wizard: Neitherlocal nor remotes sql databases allow to select. Then I applied all patches and servicepacks up to date and have the same screen. I really think SCE doesnt work on 2003 x64 platforms. Any idea?

Yes Pete. After installing SQL, I applied all patches and service packs, but I have the same trouble.

I executed SCE.msi and I get thiserror: "The product key supplied is invalid" This message never appeared before whre trying to install by the autorun option. There only one log in the %temp% folder containing: The product key supplied is invalid.=== Logging stopped: 21/08/2007 09:06:16 ===

Can you run the regular install path and paste the contents of the %TEMP%\SCESetup[num].log? This will helpdetermine why the SQL instance is not allowing selection.

Open SQL Server Management Studio, try to connect to your local Reporting Service, make sure the connection can be established. 2. Check whether the SQL Server Reporting Services is running well on services.msc. 3. Check the SQL Server edition. Connect to SQL server via SQL Server Management Studio, new a query select @@version, then execute, post the result back here.
