System.ArgumentException: AssignedTo at Microsoft.Activities.Hosting.Runti me.Subroutine.SubroutineChild.Exec ute

Hello,

I've developed an approval workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013 using SharePoint 2013 Platform. For approval process, I'm using the 'Start a task process' action. The workflow works fine when try using Site Collection Administrator. However, it cancels the workflow on approval action when try using via normal user with contribute permissions. It display the following message

"RequestorId: e04d4f83-bf09-ca12-023a-4959823eaf4d. Details: System.ArgumentException: AssignedTo at Microsoft.Activities.Hosting.Runtime.Subroutine.SubroutineChild.Execute(CodeActivityContext context) at System.Activities.CodeActivity.InternalExecute(ActivityInstance instance, ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager bookmarkManager) at System.Activities.Runtime.ActivityExecutor.ExecuteActivityWorkItem.ExecuteBody(ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager bookmarkManager, Location resultLocation) "

One of the reason behind this issue would be permissions. But, I'm not sure what permissions it required to execute for normal users.

Any idea? please let me know.

Hi Sohaib- users should have approver permissions. You may also need to run an impersonation step to give users elevated rights just when running the workflow.
