Syntax for a package's program's additional requirements

I've tried searching around to find an answer to this question without much luck. I'm trying to determine what I can set using the Additional requirements field on the requirements tab of a standard package program in SCCM 2012. There are checkboxes for OS versions and a little Additional requirements field on the bottom. Is it possible to use a wmi query to verify that the system is a Dell vs a Lenovo?

Thanks,

Glenn

No, that cannot be used for that. You might be able to use an application / deployment type with requirements on them instead.

I imagine a can create another collection to query for Dell devices and limit it to the Laptop collection to achieve my goal but I was wondering how that field can be used. There doesn't seem to be any documentation on it's use at all.

Thanks,

Glenn

you can create global condition with WQL query to check if the model matches the requirement and then perform the installation ? something like this http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/global-conditions-in-configmgr-2012/

I'm using the standard packages and not applications so a global condition won't help unless I can set it using the additional requirements field. The package that I'm running is built from a Dell utility to configure bios settings so I need to make sure I only apply it to Dell laptops.

The Advanced requirements field exists so you would think there would be some documentation on how to use it.

Create a collection of Dell laptops?

Thanks Rick,

I guess MS could have named that field better. To me it seemed like it could be used to set a requirement for a deploy and not just a notification in Software Center or Run advertised programs...
