Sync failed: WSUS server not configured. Source: CWSyncMgr::DoSync
Hi All,
I have central site CNT. CNT is in native mode. I have installed and configured WSUS/SUP on this server to sync with Microsoft. Syncing is doing good. WSUS is installed on 80/443 port.
I have Primary site N02. N02 is in mixed mode. I have installed and configured WSUS/SUP on this server to sync with Microsoft. Syncing was doing good. WSUS is installed on 8530/8531 port. Later I joined/attached Primary site N02 to Central Site
CNT and configured SUP on N02 as downstream server to sync update. I am getting the below error:
Sync failed: WSUS server not configured. Source: CWSyncMgr::DoSync
What could be the reason?
Thanks & Regards, Kedar

ConfigMgr was not able to configure WSUS then. The error should be listed in WCM.log
I would not use different ports for WSUS/SUP within the same hierarchy.

Hi Torsten,
Is this not supported that we can have WSUS/SUP installed on different ports for Central and different ports for child Primary site as in this case. Do I want to use same (either 80/443 OR 8530/8531 ports) through the hierarchy. Here concern is
that client is not willing to open 8530/8531 ports from outside on central site.
Thanks & Regards, Kedar

Ports on both sites should be the same and it is recommended to use 8530/8531.Bechir Gharbi | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/bgharbi/

I don't think that having different ports at central & child would make things not work. My central & one child primary are working with different ports. Anyone has a MS article justifying this?
Similarly, 8530/8531 is recommended but 80/443 also works.Harry
