Hello, I have a problem that I thought was supposed to be fixed in past updates. We have AD groups that we use within SharePoint groups, and information in the AD groups is not getting updated, such as e-mail address and display name. It seems that I can get user profiles to replicate ok through the SSP, but we are not importing the AD groups into the SSP. This means that for the AD groups it is straight import like AD -> SPUserList instead of AD -> SSP -> SPUserList. Any ideas if there is a way to replicate the AD information straight to the site? Hi, Why don’t you want to use SSP? As far as I know, there is no good OOTB way to achieve your need. You can add the users/groups into your site one by one but I don’t think it is suitable for you. Hope it is helpful! Seven

For users we do use the SSP. So if not using SSP for AD groups is weird then what are WSS users supposed to do? Are they just out of luck. I did find a link here that appears it will fix the problem. 974550 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974550/ ) You cannot change the name of an Active Directory security group in SharePoint Server 2007 However, we prefer to wait until service pack since, hopefully, a little extra testing is supposed to be performed for a service pack vs. a hotfix.
