Surface Pro 3 build 10122 Intel HD 4400 Integrated Graphics Drive issue
I'm on Insider Preview build 10122. After the latest update I had some issues running some graphic intensive apps. I tried adjusting setting and couldn't find a good balance between stable and usable without my screen flickering. I decided to search for any updated there might be for the graphics card, but there were none. Out of desperation, knowing this wouldn't change anything, I decided to uninstall and reinstall the graphic drivers. Uninstall went without a hitch requiring a restart, however, now I can't reinstall the drivers. From device manager I get the exclamation mark and trying to "update/install" the driver doesn't work. I only get "windows was unable to install your unknown device". I then downloaded intel's driver update utility and it does recognize that I need the graphics driver and lets me download it, but once I click "install" I get an error. I have also tried downloading the file from intels site directly and installing the .exe file and it also doesn't work. I'm out of ideas at this point and would appreciate any help. I'm sure this has to do with the fact that I'm running a preview build and the drivers don't want to play nice. Obviously they work with the build and if I hadn't uninstalled them I wouldn't be here right now. So, I just need to figure out a way to force this install.

I shall suggest you to please keep checking Windows Update for the new driver set. If any new driver is released by Microsoft it will be via Windows Update.

Jimboh86,

Check the Event log and see if any error logged.

For the error codes in Device Manager, please check:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/310123

Follow the suggestion listed under the special error code.

If that won't work, I think we should contact Microsoft Surface support.

There used to be some firmware updates delivered through Windows Update, which I suspect should matter here.

Besides, it is recommended to do system backups, once those things happen again, we could just restore back to the previous version.

Regards
