Sum on repeating table that is formatted

Hello,

I have an InfoPath form that is being used just to display information.  It is connected to a SharePoint list that has a Category column, SubCategories column and Maturity(number) columns.

I have a dropdown that users use to select the Category they want to view and then a repeating table will display ONLY the SubCategories and Maturity numbers that have the corresponding Category (I used a formatting rule on the repeating table to achieve this).

Now they would like me to be able to sum the Maturity column - but they would like it to be if a Category has not been selected, it sums everything - once a Category has been selected and the repeating table have been filtered down, the sum should only sum the displaying Maturity numbers.

Adding a field with just the SUM(Maturity field from the data connection) just sums all the numbers and it never changes when the repeating table is filtered.

Can this be done somehow?

Thanks!

Hi,

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to sum the Maturity column which filtered in repeating table.

I have tested in my environment depend your requirement. I have created a list with Category column, SubCategories column and Maturity(number) column, and created an InfoPath form connected the list.

About how to achieve it, you could create two rules on the sum of Maturity text. The one rule is to set sum of Maturity text to sum all the Maturity columns when the dropdown field is blank, which you have achieved. The other one rule is to set sum of Maturity text to sum the Maturity columns which are filtered in repeating table when the dropdown field is not blank.

About how to configure the second rule:
