I want that visitors of my site can see the top link of the blog site but when they click on this link "Access Denied" Page will display. Now the user can send the request to the site collection owner using the "Access Request" option to grant the access to the blog site. Will it possibile? Please help me.Thanks & Regards,Mahakar Singh Panwar

Hi Mahakar,You need tocheck/tick useunique permission when you create a new sub site, this will enforce that new user will not be allowed to access the site unless you allow it.Thanks and Regards,Jaimin Kansara

If I understand you correctly you want to show the Blog link to everyone, even if they do not have access. If that is the case, then you will want to create a manual entry for that item, instead of using the one SharePoint puts in there. The one added automatically will not show for users who do not have access. Hope that helps!SharePoint Developer | Administrator | Evangelist -- Twitter -- Blog - http://nextconnect.blogspot.com

I know this is an old post, but I am having the same issue and the answer above did not work. When I create a manual link to a restricted subsite, that link is automatically hidden just as if it were the automatic subsite link. I even went into the manual link and specifically added a test user to the audience, but they still don't see the link. Any ideas?
