Subreport in group of table
Hi all, I am creating a report based on a table in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Sevices. I need to displaya subreport within the groupheader of a group I inserted to the table. When I try to preview the report I'll get the following error: "An error occured during local report processing. An internal error occurred on the report server." When I place the subreport outside of the table the report runs. I tested the scenario in an emty table. When I place the report in the details row the subreport is displayed succesfully. If I insert a group to the table and place the subreport in the groupheader the same error occurs. Is it impossible to use a subreport in a groupheader? If not, does anyone have an idea how to sove this issue? Thanks! Dirk

Hi, I have successfully been able to add a sub report to a group header. Therefore, it is not an impossibility to do this action. At a guess I would look at the parameter - field value mapping that you've used to link the subreport with your main report. Firstly, does your report display correctly with the group in it (and no subreport)? You must make sure that your underlying report is correct before you add a subreport to it. If yes, your grouped report is fine. Thenadd in your subreport and see if it displays correctly in: -group header -detail It seems to me that the action of adding a grouping to your report has somehow invalidated the link that you are using for your subreport.

Thanks for your response! By now I have tried everything I can think off. The subreport is displayed correctly in the detail row. The value that I use for the parameter is also displayed correctly in the group header. As soon as I move the subreport to the group header the same problem occurs again. I've tried to use a fixed value as parameter for the subreport, a value of wich I'm 100% certain that it has to show me some results, but still the same problem. Any Ideas? Thanks, Dirk

Hi Dirk, Hope you've solved this problem already! I'm facing similar problem! but in my case the sub-report shows only records related to the first record of the RowGroup, and for the other records the following error appears "Data retrieval failed for the subreport". If you can help me with this I'll really appreciate it. Thanks, Ruba
