Still having DST issues
Hi, Is anyone else still having DST issues? XP moves the clock just fine, but when the system reboots WSS sets the time back or ahead and removes the time change. I've been fighting with this for 2 years now. We are a Library on v2.5 and have WSS installed on about 120 systems. Everything works great accept DST bc WSS removes the time fix. Anyone else having this issue or do all of your systems set the times just fine? The systems are all in a workgroup. Thanks, John

Hi John, You are not alone. Same thing here with 2 PC's running XP. 1 Home, 1 Pro. I just turn off disk protection, syc with the time server, reboot, then turn dp back on.

Hi Barry, That's pretty much what we have to do.. we don't turn off and on the DP b/c that can take forever and sometimes won't work unless you defrag the drive over and over. we sync with a time server and then apply the changes with the DP.. the system then completely reboots and applies the changes and then when it finished the reboot it removes the time change.. so we do it all again and it takes it the 2nd time.. no idea why and no idea how to get around this. we've gotten pretty effecient on 120 systems.. but talk about a drag.. twice a year..

Could it be the syncing with your chosen Internet Server is causing the issue? I keep mine with time.windows.com and let it take care of DST, but I don't use WDP, I use Deep Freeze and I haven't had any issues last time around. They all adjusted and kept the time at the last time. I remember there was an update regarding DST through Windows Update a while back, you sure you applied that update? It's not the system wont' make the correct time change.. It does, it's just that WDP removes the time change upon reboot. Please advise. Thanks, John

Hi Sean, Why does the WDP disregard DST and move the time either one hour ahead or behind on reboot? How can I stop that? Thanks, John
