Steady State and DST
Help!I have Windows Steady State 2.0 installed with all updates as of February. The PC's are in a time loop. DST has advanced the time one hour (resetting the BIOS time an hour ahead) On the next reboot, the time is advanced another hour, then another hour again on the next reboot, ad nauseam. Help Please.

Hi Joshua, Thanks for posting here! For Daylight Savings Time changes, we need to install some updates from Windows Update. Therefore, I'd like to confirm if you have enabled Windows Disk Protection. If so, let's check whether the updates were installed on the computer. We can enable SteadyState Schedule Software updates to keep those updates. Meanwhile, I'd like to include some related articles below: Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst How to configure daylight saving time for the United States in 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914387/en-us Best regards,

Hi, We are a public library and are running 10 Steady State systems.. soon to be 50. We had this exact problem. The systems to windows update every night at 10pm and have all updated. Windows disk protection is enabled. xp sp2 installed. I came in sunday and the systems did not move 1 hour ahead. I shut the system off and turned it back on and it went one hour ahead.. did the same thing again just to see what whould happend and they jumped another hour ahead again. I logged in as admin and used atomic clock to set the time, I then shut down the systems and had Steady state keep the changes. I'm not sure what to do to make sure this doesn't do it again in the fall, b/c instead of 10 systems we'll have 50. please help. Thanks, John

Hi John, I understand that you have experienced the same issue. In fact, DST is not mentioned in SteadyState handbook and I don't see this issue on my test machine. Therefore, we will still check and confirm if the issue is caused by SteadyState or by other factors. Meanwhile, I have included another thread regarding the issue: Daylight Savings Time http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2656737&SiteID=17 Best regards,

Just wondering if there has been any solution to this issue? I have 15 Steady State machines (for 2 years) and this happens every single time. (The clock moves forward an hour on each reboot, or back an hour each reboot, depending on if it is fall or spring. I use Windows Vista Business. I did notice that Steady State does NOT install all of the Windows updates, even though it is set to install all important updates every night. For example, Windows Vista Service Pack 2 had to be installed manually, as well as several other updates. For a long time I thought the updates were being done but they were not. I am wondering if Microsoft has fixed this DST issue for Steady State machines and, if so, where I can get the fix.
