SteadyState low memory error
I have been using SS 2.5 for the last few years without any issues. Recently I have been expereincing some problems with it, or at least I think it may be it. About halfway through the day a few of the computers will not let the users save anything, errors printing, giving random low memory errors(low virtual memory etc) and just not acting right at all. One time I logged out of the Public user profile and got into an Administrator account. It gave me an error saying that it wasnt there and it created another one. If I restart the computer all is fine again, but it would soon do the same thing again. For whatever reason it always seems to happen in the late afternoon everyday. All of the computers are running XP SP3 and Comprise Technologies SAM. Nothing has changed since this has started. Any ideas?

Hi, how much memory did it used? Did you do something with this PC before this issue appears? Try to login with Safe Mode or Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs. Furthermore, please try to uninstall Windows SteadyState completely for test. Hope it helps. No software has been added. The only thing that has changed was with our SAM system, instead of having patrons sign up on each computer, they now go through a sign up station that assigns a computer. I dont know how that would effect SS though and it was about a month earlier. I am unsure of how much memory was used, it would give me the error popups and some programs wouldnt open, but if you tried enough times they would eventually open. Printing doesnt work and saving documents deosnt work most of the time. I cant really predict when it is going to happen. It happens randomly so its hard to pinpoint.

Well I know the system doesnt have any problems because this problem has spread across a few computers. I can try uninstalling SS, but then WDP will need to be turned off and that will erase anything when it restarts so I would be starting from a fresh state anyway. I may try running a system without WDP to see if that makes anykind of change.
