Hi, You can check next if you can access the Central Admin website. Once you can do that, you may browse through the links of Central Admin Operation and Applcation Management tabs and try to understand the significance of each and every entry. One of the many next things to learn will be whether you can create quite a few new websites followed by site collections from different templates. And then browse these newly created site collections and understand what goes on there. If you want step by step for users or infrustructure related matters, then you may follow Mike Walshs' "Sams Teach Yourself SharePoint 2007 2007 in 24 hours" book. This is very WSS specific. On the other hand, if you are planning to custom development, along with WSS 3.0 installed, you will need Visual Studio 2008. Then you may refer to many development related books. One such book specifically targetted for WSS 3.0 is "Inside MicroSoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0" by Ted Pattison and Daniel Larson. Hope this helps. Soumya

If at the time of installation, you do not specify an already exisiting instance of SQL Server, WSS installer automatically installs a SQL Server express edition. In other words, if you have a successful installation of WSS, there is definitely a SQL Server supporting it's operations. Thanks
