Special Delete - AD-Discovery & Software Reinstallation
Hello everybody It's a hard monday for me. I press the "Special Delete"-Button on a SCCM-Collection. All the Resources in the Collection was removed from all the collections, the next run of AD Discovery had add this again to SCCM. But the resources aren't approved and i think they aren't linked to the original machine. I have read a lot about the heardbeat recovery, but it will not work on my sccm-resources. Or i can't used it ;) The heardbeat recovery (edit:discovery) is configured as standard for all 7 days. The AD Discovery have i disactivated now! Can you give me a tip how i can recover the original resources back to sccm? thanks a lot! h2o

Are the clients showing up as "client = yes"? I don't think so (because they were just added by AD system discovery, so they cannot be approved at all. Only "client = yes" can be approved). Just wait some time (until hardware inventory and heartbeat discovery (not "recovery") ran or initiate it manually on a client) and update the collection membership. I guess that it will work without any further intervention then.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Heartbeat Recovery=Heartbeat Discovery ? Heartbeat discovery will not discover new resource Records. To get the original resources ASAP,you can use AD system discovery by specifying the Correct LDAP path or else if the clients are installed with SCCM client and are healthy, they will send the DDR record by next refresh cycle which will insert to SCCM database. //Eswar Koneti @ www.eskonr.com

Hi Go to discovery methods, set Heartbeat discovery to something low (1 hour) if you have no bandwith problems with this, It will start the discovery and you will see that the clients that are reached by the heartbeat discovery will change from 'No' in clients to Yes Also, in the logs you will see that the clients can now join the Management Point without errors. brgds brunobruno

Hallo Torsten, hello Eswar No, the clients showing up as "client = no". The Clients are healthy... How can i run the hearbeat discovery manually on the client? (I have a English SSCM but a German SCCM Client) The hardware inventory had i started on the client, but i can't see an action on the server. The heardbeat discovery is configured on the server to run every week. I think it can dure one Week betwen all clients automaticly are in the sccm console. thank you h2o

There is no separate agent for Heartbeat discovery.inventoryagent is responsible for hardware and software inventory plus heartbeat discovery(Processing for heartbeat data is very quick). You can monitor inventory agent.log to see if the information sent to MP or not.//Eswar Koneti @ www.eskonr.com
