Sorting a matrix by aggregate column
Hello, SSRS 2008. I have a simple matrix for customer sales as follows: Customer [Month] Total [CustName] [Sum(Value)] [Sum(Value)] Which results in something similar to the following: Jan Feb May Total ABC Cust $5 $5 $5 $15 "Total" is an aggregate column defined in the matrix itself. I need to sort the matrix on this Total column, but cannot find a way to do it. It appears that we cannot sort on an aggregate column... surely this can't be so! This seems like a pretty basic requirement for a report writer, so I suspect I'm just missing something that is obvious since I can't even find much about this using the search. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

right click on the top right corner of the matrix and go to matrix properties.select the groups tab.select the group1 row, click edit.click the sorting tab.enter your totalling expression, and decide if you want it to sort in ascending or descending totals order.done. :)

Hi, It doesn't work for me :-( I do not have any option call Matrix properties with any right click.... when i select the matrix and than i click on properties in the solution explorer i get the matrix properties - but there i can't find any groups tab..... I have the same rows structure as the example above and the i added the total as Colomn Groups total by clicking on the groups section at the bottom on the report designer. Now i tried to add sorting via the column group properties and it is not working.... Please advice.
