Some file is missing in Export / Import
I am try to export/import a subsite to a new site collection.However I found some files are missing in the new site.There are no error or warning in export process. But in the import, 6 errors similiar to following are found.Error: Unable to update the information in the Microsoft Office document Forms for COO/Business Travel Request Form for COO.doc. at Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequest.CreateOrUpdateFileAndItem(String bstrUrl, String bstrWebRelativeUrl, Guid& docId, Object varDoc, Int32 docLength, Int32 exists, String bstrCreatedBy, String bstrModifiedBy, Int32 iCreatedByID, Int32 iModifiedByID, Int32 iVersion, Object varTimeCreated, Object varTimeLastModified, Object varProperties, String checkInComment, Int32 docLibRowID, String bstrListName, UInt32& pdwVirusCheckStatus, String& pVirusCheckMessage) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.FileSerializer.CreateOrUpdateFileWithGuid(SPFileStream spstm, SPWeb web, Guid fileId, String fileUrl, SPUser author, SPUser editor, String checkinComment, DateTime timeCreated, DateTime timeLastModified, MetaInfoHandler metaInfo, FileInfo fileInfo, Int32 iVersion, Boolean isFirstVersion, SPImportSettings settings, Int32 listItemId, String listInternalName)However the number of files missing is more than 6....Anyone have idea?Thanks.Jason

Hi Jason.. I think this problem is due to file size. If file size. is 5 MB or above ... it throws this error.. Thanks

and the file failed to import is not bigger than 5mb. Any idea?

Try the No File Compression Switch. For Example: Export the site: stsadm -o export -url -filename -includesecurity -nofilecompression Import the site: stsadm -oimport -url -filename -includesecurity -nofilecompression

I have tried this operation. Still the problem exsist.However, what is quite tricky form me - the file which has been reported in the import log file as the one which caused an error has been imported successfully and there are no issues with this file.Still the number of items between source WebSite and the target are different :(Best regards,Michal

Hi, Any updates to this issue? Im seeing the same problem here - 3 very random documents have failed during my import. Has anyone tried the database repair option with stsadm? Also, im a bit puzzled by the fact that files seem to grow 1-2 kb after the import...

Hi, Any solution to this... In my case, i have exported a site containing 15000+ items in a document library. There was no error while exporting. After importing, i got below errors and the item count was only 3500.
