Solution deployment requires executing execadmsvcjobs command on search server to complete deployment
We have multiple Sharepoint 2007 farms and deploy custom code weekly to the farms. On one o the farms it is required to run stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs on the Search server in the farm in order for solution deployments to complete deploying. These are solution recycles that we are running. This is the only farm this happens on and all farms are identical. In central admin it shows the solution state as deploying. It appears that the SharePoint Timer Service might not be running. Restart the timer service with the following command line commands on the search server to clear up the problem: net stop "Windows SharePoint Services Timer" net start "Windows SharePoint Services Timer" I trust that answers your question... The timer service is running on the search server when this occurs. I had to do deployments to this farm last night and verified prior to the deploying that all services were started correctly. The strange thing is that all farms are identical in regards to pathc levels and configs, so not sure why this one farm would require this additional step. Thanks,
