Software metering for Adobe acrobat pro/standard
I need to create the software software metering for adobe acrobat pro/std software. Please help me to find out the software metering file for adobe acrobat pro. I need to find out that users have adobe acrobat pro/std installed but not using Write,create etc.. features. I know its so tricky because some users may use adobe acrobat pro to read pdf documents. kindly help me to find out the same

If I'm not mistaken it's simply acrobat.exe. Also, you can simply try that by starting the application and looking at the task manager. Do keep in mind that this won't really help with finding the information that you're looking for. Based on the usage of the executable you won't know if it was used for reading or writing.

Thanks for your reply. If we enable software metering for acrobat.exe, it will consider the software is used for that machine even if we read pdf documents. I need the actual usage of adobe acrobat pro software..

That's exactly my point. You can't use software metering to differentiate between writing and reading. That's only possible when a complete different executable is used.

We had the same issue. What we ended up doing is to change default program to be Adobe reader so even if you have Acrobat if you are just viewing PDF it would open with Adobe.

Only actual editing is captured using acrobat. In this case you can use metering.
