Software Metering
Hi All,
There are quite a few applications showing in Software Metering section but it is not showing some of the applications that I want to monitor like Project and Visio. Do I need to add them manually? Why are
they not being shown like other applications so that I can just go ahead and just enable them. Cheers.

You need to create a rule for your desired applications. and Enable them. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.

1. Need to enable software metering (I think, you've already enabled that)
2. Check the schedule (would suggest tio keep it as default 7 days)
3. Add new metering rule for the application you wanted to monitor.
4. You can run "Install base for all metered software programs" default report available in configmgr to find out the results after seven days (default metering schedule)?Anoop C Nair - Twitter @anoopmannur

Thanks for the reply. It asks for the executable when you manually create a rule for that, so which executable should I provide? And why is it not updating automatically as other office applications are updating like excel, powerpnt and word
etc.

You need to enable software metering rule for the applications which you want to monitor otherwise it won't get monitored. Verify, what are the rules available in your software metering setting.Anoop C Nair - Twitter @anoopmannur

Thanks for the replies. Just checked that the threshold was set to 100 which is default so thats why new applications were not automatically updating. I have changed the threshold and waiting for the inventory and metering to occur
so that I can enable it when it is discovered automatically, trust the application that comes automatically than manual one. I have some grey areas over there especially in the wizard when it asks for the executable.
