Software Assurance
Hi there, hopefully a quick easy question, we have purchased software assurancewith sms and so areentitled, andwould like to install, SCCM But we have a question is in regards to the licensing. Where do we get the key, and media from, can we download them? we are a open customer, it's not in eopen. For sce we ordered the media, and the key is on the media, is it the same in sccm? Thanks for any help Rob.

Unfortunately, those are more marketing type questions - and none of us monitoring the forums are marketing types :-) Here's a link to the Pricing & Licensing information page on the public web: http://www.microsoft.com/smserver/howtobuy/default.mspx I know the product is on the Microsoft Volume License Site, many of my customers have downloaded it from there. If you are a VL customer, you can get it from there. I'm not sure of what other media the product is available for, other than the evaluation version.

Thanks for the help Wally, I'm aware it's a sort of licensing / marketing question, but from where I'm sat it's extremely technical as well 'cause I dont know how to install the product! I'm just hoping that someone here has purchased the product through software assurance from an open license and can point me in the right direction. I'm going to order the media, which my reseller has just told me is available, so that's a start, but am still stumped as to where i'm going to get my license keys from, maybe the sa media doesnt require keys? Rob.

Volume license media has a pre-populated key, so you won't need to provide one.

If you get the select media, it comes with a PID pre-populated, so no need to worry about that process. It's just a matter of getting the select media, which I thought SA customers were able to get (but again, I have no idea how the media stuff is delivered to customers - I know it is on the MSVL site already).

Hello Williar, As you or your Customer purchase any Volume license then he is eligible to download the ISO Image and Pkeys from his VLSC Webportal. https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx Further once he has logged in to this portal he is able to download the ISO Image and Pkeys. go through the link below which helps you further to login to VLSC and how to obtain ISO Image and Pkeys. http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/existing-customers/manage-my-agreements.aspx Regards, Karthik V Microsoft Customer Support
