InfoPath blows up with an error message saying "Invalid form template"...

No, I do not have any added data connections in the form.

No, I have not added any fields or done any modifications of any kind to the form.

I am doing exactly these steps:

1. Open SPD
2. Create a New Custom List
3. Open List in SPD
4. Click "Design Forms in InfoPath" (Item)
5. Form opens in InfoPath 2013
6. Click Publish (or Quick Publish...doesn't matter)
7. See error message

This wasn't a problem in my environment liiike, a week ago..? The only thing that's different is that I installed some security patches on the servers this morning...

Seriously, since there's so much going on with SP, Designer and InfoPath, I'd break this into different stages to whittle down the problem.

Try setting up your list in SP, and click to modify the form in InfoPath directly from the SP list.

If that works, try setting up another list using Designer, then go to the list in SP and click to modify the form in InfoPath directly from the list.

If that works, then you'll know that it's an issue with modifying the form from within Designer.

Also you can try to check if there are more useful ULS logs related to InfoPath issue according to the time of this error "Invalid form template" occured, it could help troubleshoot the issue.

I am experiencing excactly the same problem.

All my lists worked perfectly on all my site collections until I did an update and I get the following error:

Invalid form template in InfoPath

I even tried reinstalling the server and reconnecting the database.

After reconnecting the database it gave me an error that states that the versions are incorrect, this forced me to

to the updates resulting that the same error occurred on my newly installed server.

I even tried to publish the newly created InfoPath form as an Administrator template, first it got stuck on

publishing, then on deleting, and then when I wanted to publish another template I got an error that states:

Requested registry error is not allowed

Is there anybody that can assist me please?

I have found a solution to the problem with regards to the Invalid form templates

I installed the March 2015 Cumulative Update and it resolved all the issues.
