Smart Part Error
0 Hi I have deployed smart part to my site and it was working properly. i have deployed some user controls to my site. all was fine upto yesterday. but now when i open the site and click on the list to which i deployed user control i get the error "Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe" and when i try to add smart part web part it gives me the following error "unable to add selected web part(s) SmartPart: Cannot import this web part". Now what is the problem? Please help me if someone know about the problem.

Never post the same question to more than one forum. It wastes everyones time. I have deleted the copy send to Setup/Admin rather than this one because that one was also marked as a Discussion Type. Always use the question type in these forums so people get credit for their replies to you. (Moderator) Moving *this* (Question Type) copy to Setup/Admin as it is wrongly placed in the customization forum. 2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc. 2007 Books: WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.

Has someone perhaps replaced the web part/user control smartpart is trying to load, but not marked it as a safe assembly? Also, if its not in the GAC, or the BIn directory with the correct trust level trust level set to either 'WSS_Medium' or to 'Full' allocated in the web.config for that site then MOSS, and subsequently smartpart won't be able to load it. This is more a question for the dev forums, but I hope I've helped. Regards John Timney

As I said, more a question for the dev forums, but if you have a safe assembly you can add it shown here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms581321(office.12).aspx Regards John Timney
