Smart Card errors PKCS11 Error: Incorrect PIN
I have set up ILM 2 RC on a Windows 2008 Server and now i want to enroll certificates on smart cards. I have set up a profile template for the Aladdin CSP (eToken). On my Client i have installed the CLM Client Software and the csp pki etoken 5.0 client. Now i'm trying to enroll a certificate on the eToken. I have set up the Pin policy to User Provided . I received the error message Smart card client error performing operation: PKCS11 Error: Incorrect PIN If i change the Pin policy to Custom Server i've got the error message: Error generating custom user pin. Secound i have installt the siemens CSP and tryed to use this csp.Inhere i received the same error message. If i change the smart card PIn using Change Your Smart Card PIN it works fine. But i still can't enroll a temporary or a permanent smart card to the user. How can i solve this error?

Do you know the admin PIN of the card? Is it configured in the profile template? If the admin PIN stored in the CM database does not match the card, you will not be able to use the CM client to manage the card.AhmadAW

If CM is not aware of the admin PIN on the card, then no, CM will not be able to re-initialize the card. You maybe able to wipe the card and reset the admin PIN to a known value by using a utility provided by the card vendor, but you'd need to check that with the card vendor.Even if you are able to wipe the card, you still might not be able to use it with your current installation of CM. If CM knows about the card, that is if the card is in the CM database and CM still doesn't know about the admin PIN, you won't be able to use the card in CM without dropping and recreating the database.Paul Adare CTO IdentIT Inc.
