We are facing issue with Skype user is showing offline in Lync. we are not able to do chat. In Skype, we are using Hotmail account in Skype for login.

Would you please elaborate the federation steps for you between Lync Server 2013 and Skype?

Could the Lync Server of your corporation make federation with other partner corporation's Lync Server?

Please check the following tips:

1. Please check if the request for federation between Lync Server and Skype successfully on the link https://pic.lync.com

2. On Lync Server Control Panel, configure at least one policy to support federated user access
