Site with more than 30,000 clients
All 30k clients will be assigned to the central site. The central site will have certain roles offloaded to other servers i.e. MP, SUP and DP. The clients will all use Nomad Branch DP in the Branches and will have the network connections throttled over the WAN.

Hi, I have one central site with 30,000 clients using Nomad in branch offices. Could someone recommend a hardware load balancer for the MP and SUP roles? Do Microsoft recommend or have any in their supported hardware list? I can't find any info on this. Thanks.

That's the list of supported configurations: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee344146.aspx. Anything not listed is not supported. Are all those 30k clients assigned to the central site? Or are there primary child sites, too?

Is anyone running a SCCM configuration where more than 25k clients are attaching to one SUP and Management point?

Sure; there are those hierarchies out there, but you'd have to use NLBs then: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680869.aspx

Microsoft supports only Microsoft Load Balance (NLB) as load balancing solution cause MS cannot test SCCM with all Hardware load balancer on the market. So from MS support point of view you will have only as answer use Micorosft NLB. Now you can test with Hardware load balancer, it will work but it's not supported by MS. Julien

Hi, The maximum recommended clients number per site is up to 200,000 per hierarchy. So if your hardware is powerful, I think 30,000 clients per site will be OK. See site capacity planning: Configuration Manager Site Capacity Planning http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680869.aspxPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
