Site structure change and impact on permissions.
I know that sites can be moved around relatively easily in SharePoint. My question is when moving a site via SharePoint do permissions go along with it? For instance X coperatoin has restructrued and now division A falls under division B. So, to maintain structual integrity we move divsion A under B obviously. I know Sharepoint will automatically update links etc.. but doing this direct move from a top level site and repositioning it under another top level site, do the permissions move with division A as well?

Please tell us how you Move the site. There are various methods to do that and some of them certainly will not retain permissions. 2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc. 2007 Books: WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.
