Site ID not found.
Hi All, We had a strange situation last week. We had a site in our production environment at the sub site level, we took a back up and restored it at the sub site level in the development environment, some updates were done on the site. Later back up was taken of the sub site in the development and restored at the site collection level to a new web application in the production. When this was done we couldn't open the new site on the production and the error we got was "File not found". By modifying the url in the browser we went to the settings page, there was only one tab displayed on the page which read "Error" and when we hover it, it gave a message "An error occurred while rendering navigation for requested url: /_layouts/settings.aspx. Exception message: The site with the id xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx could not be found." Any help. Thanks in advance.

Backup / Restore works at Site Collection level while Export / Import works at Site level. Could you please let me know more information on how you backup and restore sites? Use 3rd party tools?Sincerely, Lambert Qin Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
