I have created many Information Management Policies at Library level for Content Types based on System and Custom Date Columns.

My question is, Why, when I set up the Policies at the Site Collection Level are the Custom Date Columns not available and is there a way of using these in my Site Policies.

As in my question, I am more than familiar with creating Information Management Policies, we have well over 750 on our site. To tidy this up I am looking at creating Site Collection Policies. (Site Actions/Site Settings/Site Collection Administration/Site collection policies). When I set up the Policies at the Site Collection Level, Custom Date Columns not available and is there a way of using these in my Site Policies.

Hi Ross,

Site Collection policies are for site content types, not for a special content type. It seems that if we want to use a site column when creating a site collection policy, the site columns should be added to all content types in the site, however, it is hard to add a custom site column to all site content types.
