hello, this seems kinda weird...i have to setup SSO in my standalone installation of moss...i go to central admin then manage single sign on settings...i start the single sign on service everything seems fine...but when i click on Manage Server Settings it just keeps on loading ...it loads for a long period of time and throws this error in the end "Operation aborted (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004004 (E_ABORT))" i have no idea where this is coming from ... any ideas ? thanks

Hi talhak, Can you turn on logging for SSO, you can do via the GUI in Central Admin or use this command: stsadm -o setlogginglevel -category sso -tracelevel verbose (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261740(office.12).aspx) Once that is done browse back to the SSO management page and reproduce the error again. Open the log files and do a search for "SSO". There should be a few lines about what is happening and then finally the E_Abort. What we need to see is those lines that happen before the E_Abort is thrown. If you could post just the SSO sections from the log it would be helpful. HI, From the output of the log you did not enable verbose logging for SSO, these appear to be default settings. For this thread topic. I would you like you to do the following so we can filter out only SSO entries in the ULS log. 1. Goto Central Admin 2. Goto Operations 3. Diagnostics Logging 4. Select Category > ALL 5. Least critical event to report to the trace log > NONE 6. Press OK 7. Diagnostics Logging 8. Select Category > SSO 9. Least critical event to report to the trace log > Verbose 10. Press OK Try broswing to the Manage Server settings page again.
