What's the error in the log file (the link is purple, I know you looked at it! :)

My first thought is that SQL Server 2014 by default has the TCP/IP protocol disabled. You need to enable it in SQL Server Configuration Manager. This one trips me up often.

Can you explain further what you mean by installed 2013 and 2010 on Single Server?

SharePoint 2013 is the only supported version if you are upgrading to 2016 which means any 2010 DB needs to be upgraded to 2013 first.

Here's the error:
System.InvalidOperationException: An error occurred while getting information about the user administrator at server SP2016.com: The network address is invalid
Do you have a server called "sp2016.com?"

Yes that's the Single Server Name...

Is sp2016.com the FQDN for the server? If so, single-label DNS names ("com") are not supported in SP2013. The 2016 preview links to this 2013 requirements page so I am assuming it still applies to 2016.

I booted up my SharePoint 2013 Server and It looks exactly the same as below...

Ahh, you don't have a single-label domain name. What name are you using for the database server?
August 25th, 2015 7:32pm

Just a wild question, do you have domain sp2016.com on same machine or in another words, is this machine a DC as well?

Jason...

When you promote the server as a Domain Control I gave it the Domain SP2016.com at that stage.

Running SQL Server 2014 on the same Server as a Dev Environment, the SQL instance was defaulted as MSSQLSERVER.

Its not recommended to install SP2013 on same server as DC.

Anyways, it seems that you used account 'Administrator' to connect to database server. If this is the case, you should be using one of the domain admins account. For this, create a user account and add it to domain admins first. Then use that account to configure database.

Hope this helps.

If this was a production Environment yes that's acceptable answer however this is a testing single server for SP2016.

Ill attempt your advice as well as Jasons Single Labelled Domain now and see what happens.

I was just using administrator account for a quick installation and so far its been anything but quick...

There is no concept of local administrators on a DC. So that should explain why 'administrator'

Tried creating and using with a SPInstall Account, and receive the exact same error message...

I had a hunch that wouldn't make any difference.

Just to be sure, you added spinstall account to the domains admins?

August 26th, 2015 5:39am

As far as I know I did yes.

Could you provide a small Step by step on how to add to domain admins and ill check.

(Just so im 100% sure its correct).
