Since upgrading to R2 SP1 had some issues with the client install.

For any new installs, either pushing from console or via Setup Windows and ConfigMgr step in taskseq, the clients are only getting the two actions "Machine Policy.. Cycle" and "User Policy.. Cycle". I have gone through the ccmsetup logs and the logs under ccm\logs.. haven't found any issues. It just isn't populating the rest of the tasks and ccm\logs is missing many files. the clientlocation.log and locationservices.log show no errors..

Any advice on what to check next?

ccmsetup.log is irrelevant as you are past client installation if you can open the control panel applet.

Have you reviewed clientidmanagerstartup.log?

The only error on that log is "Failed to submit event to the Status Agent. Attempting to create pending event."

Then just several lines of Client registration is pending..

Lack of an error doesn't mean it worked. The log snippet above explicitly states that the client is not registered, registration is pending, and nothing is ever heard back.

Are you sure your MP is healthy?

Have you checked the MP's client registration log?

Where is the client reg log on the MP? I have removed, restarted and added the MP role again its showing healthy now.

Also, I noticed that all of the client installs are showing "client certificate: None" if i check the cert snap-in it shows it does have the client cert, expires is 2020, and even the clientIDManagerStartup.log shows "Client PKI cert is available."

Does the log show it actually choosing a certificate though?
