Silent Install of FIM Sync Service prompts for path and filename for backup encryption keys
Hello,I've managed to transform the sync service msi with the necessary fields to perform a silent install, but still get prompted to provide a path and filename for the backup of the encryption key set. Using Orca to examine the contents of the msi, there doesn't appear to be a property(s) to set these. Does anyone know of any properties/values that i can use to populate the mst so i can get this to work fully? I'm aware that running it with the qn switch removes the prompt, but we still need to store the keys somewhere.Kind regardsRob

There is not a parameter you can pass in for saving the backup key siliently during install. You can pass /quiet & it will skip saving the backup key during install. Then you could later export the backup key using the MIISKMU.exe tool using a command like the following."%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager\2010\Synchronization Service\Bin\miiskmu.exe" /e c:\Temp\MyKey.bin /u:<MyDomain>\<MyAlias> <MyPassword> /qDocumentation about miiskmu tool:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc787957(WS.10).aspx
