Show Advanced View button for non-administrators
I've got some delegation configured in the FIM Portal. Basically I've got a custom set which has a subset of the permissions "administrators" have. Whenever they click a user to edit it, the Advanced View button is not there. I've found the following topic Hide Advanced View button and I haven't changed the "User Administrators" set. In other words, all users are present in that set. For the record, a member of the administrator set does see this button. Has this behaviour been changed in FIM RTM? Is there a way to make this button available for regular users? Only members of the Administrator set can use the advanced view -- http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff393653(WS.10).aspx The only way to do that is to do as the other topic suggests, create a new tab (grouping) and if a user has permissions to read a single control on that tab, then the tab will appear. If the user doesn't have permission to read a single control then the tab won't appear.David Lundell, Get your copy of FIM Best Practices Volume 1 http://blog.ilmbestpractices.com/2010/08/book-is-here-fim-best-practices-volume.html

Thanks David, that's the answer I was looking for. Can you perhaps provide some info on how to grant permissions for one or more controls? I see from the Technical Reference that you can specify a "rightslevel" from which I asume Alias works like a useage keyword. How do you then target this in an MPR? Extract from RightsLevel: my:RightsLevel="{Binding Source=rights, Path=Alias}"http://setspn.blogspot.com
