Short cut to SSRS report
hi! I would like to know about whether any way exists to have a short cut for a SSRS report. For the users ll have only the rights to view the report and the link will be like, http://cook:8080/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReports%2fSALES so the ll directly access this link above. Is there a way that we can save it as like an icon so that, wen it is double clicked automatically it ll lead to the report. Jus to know abt the existence im asking. Thanks ! --------------------------- Radhai Krish | Golden Age is no more far | --------------------------

You can pretty much add the link to your favourites if you are using internet explorer You can copy the link from the favourites to your desktop too. Link on how to add favourites http://browsers.about.com/od/internetexplorertutorials/ss/ie7favorites.htm
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

One of the ways is to add a shortcut directly in the desktop. 1. Right click an empty area on the desktop 2. Select New Shortcut 3. In the target for the shortcut paste your above link http://cook:8080/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReports%2fSALES 4. Click next and give a name for the shortcut 5. Click finish and close the shortcut adding window. When double clicked, it should directly take the user to the particular folder of SSRS given in the sortcut. Hope this helps. Please click "Mark as Answer" if this resolves your problem or "Vote as Helpful" if you find it helpful. BH
