Sharing a single SQL Reporting Service between multiple Sites in same hirachy
Hi Everyone,
We have the following setup:
Site C1
Site P1 (Child of C1)
Site P2 (Child of C1)
All Sites are using the Same SQL Cluster in the back. Now our Idea was to install SQL Reporting Services on one (or more) cluster nodes. The idea behind is to install Reporting Services Point for Site P1 and P2 on the same SQL Reporting Service which resides
on one of the cluster nodes.
Is this possible ? Or does each site needs to have its own Reporting Service ?
Thanks

Why creating a reporting services point for sites P1 and P2 at all? All data will be replicated up to C1 and can be queried there.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

nope, all data coming from a client is replicated to the central/parent site.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

It depends. The advertisement status will be replicated up to the site where the advertisement was created. So: advertisement was created at central site -> status will be available at central site. Advertisement was created at child site -> status won't
be available at central site then.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

For example, if you like to run reports about the status of an advertisement for a package which was created at a child site, then you don't see this data....I checked it in our production env.....there is no data....
anyway, is someone able to answer my initial querstion ?
thank
