Sharepoint upgrade from 2003 to 2007
Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading our Sharepoint Server 2003 intranet portal to Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server (MOSS) 2007. We have selected the "Database Migration" approach to conduct this upgrade as we have a large content to migrate. As part
of our solution to utilise this upgrade method, we have prepared a set of what are called Upgrade Definition files and undertaken other steps necessary as recommended in MSDN. But what we have noticed is though the upgrade process migrates all the content
completely to the new system it still leaves the hyperlinks within the page content and also hyperlinks in the upgraded lists pointing to the old Sharepoint 2003 areas (sites). In the upgraded site when a user clicks on any of these links, MOSS displays a
page to the user saying that they are being redirected to the correct location and that they can update the link by copying and pasting into the content the correct path displayed below. Since we have thousands of such links present in our content, we would
like to ideally update these links during the upgrade process itself and not having to do it manually. If there is a way to accomplish this and if you can guide us to this that will be great. Thanks.

I'm not sure where you are in your migration process, but if you feel like taking a crack at it following a Step-By-Step guide, start here:

I trust that answers your question...
Thanks

Hi C,
Thanks for replying. I used the DB migration. I have done the migration already and got it working but it is this just one bit that I am trying to get to work if it's possible, that's getting the upgrade process to update the links in the content to point
to the correct URLs. Is it possible at all ?
Many thanks!
