Sharepoint site takes too long time to open.
Hi All, I have a general query regarding Sharepoint 2007. I installed Sharepoint 2007 to a server, and installed SQL Server 2005 on the same server. Then i restored production site to this server. Site is working fine, but every morning when i open the site it takes too long time to open, so to resolve this i got to services.msc and the restart SQL sevices, restart timer and do iisreset. Then only i can able to open the site. Could anyone pls advise how can i resolve this issue. Pls Advise Sandeep -- Regards Sandeep

Hi there. Is this issue isolated to the restored site? Or do you see this behavior on other sites as well? Are there any customizations done on this site? Do you get any error message before you do your other actions? Regards, MagnusMy blog: InsomniacGeek.com

Hi Magnus, Thanks for your reply. No i don't get any error message. Its just when i open the site it takes took long time and still site won't open. In site we prepared workflow using infopath forms. and some webparts are there. So forcefully i have to restart sql services and timer. Thanks Sandeep -- Regards Sandeep

Hi Sandeep, Did you encounter this issue when you access other site(non-SharePoint site)? Did you see the issue before you restore the production site to this server? Try to temporarily disable the InfoPath or web parts in sites, then check the effect. In addition, you can use the following tool to check whether you have performance issue: Microsoft Best Practices Analyzer for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and the 2007 Microsoft Office System http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=cb944b27-9d6b-4a1f-b3e1-778efda07df8&displaylang=en sharepointbpa.exe -cmd analyze -substitutions SERVER_NAME CentralAdministrationServer where "CentralAdministrationServer" is the server name for your SharePoint Central Administration. It is important that SERVER_NAME is included in the parameters capitalized and that CentralAdministratorServer is replaced with the server name that is running SharePoint Central Administration. After the analysis is complete, open sharepointbpa.report.htm in a web browser. Post the result into the forum.Regards, Rock Wang Microsoft Online Community Support
