Sharepoint reconfiguration after IIS re install
Sharepoint 2007 was installed and running on a windows 2003 server. To fix some other issue, IIS on that server has been un-installed andre-installed and then obviously sharepoint site is not opening now. And to my horror I found that there are no backups of the server. The existing sharepoint installation is astand aloneinstallation with SQL server express editaion. The data is not a problem for me. Ido not even require that data in the site. But I wanted the site to be up and running.Any help inre configuringmy sharepoint is of a great help!!Thanks is advance.

Hi, Reinstall IIS will break your SharePoint server 2007. SharePoint server 2007 adds its own handlers into IIS. If you dont care the data in the old database, you can perform the following steps to fix your issue: 1. First uninstall the SharePoint server 2007 and IIS. 2. Reinstall IIS and SharePoint server 2007. 3. Install service pack. 4. Create a Web Application and site. If you want to keep the old database, you can create a new web application and attach the content database on the new web application. Then check the effect. For more information about reinstalled IIS and now no site working, please refer to the following article: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/02c80745-57e3-4401-8a84-b29182d87d9b Hope this helps. Try this simple solution, which Microsoft Tech support provided me: Reinstall Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2003. MS Support said the issue was because IIS had incorrect (or corrupt) dlls and files. I reinstalled SP2 and Sharepoint was fine.
