For local testing: Create a SharePoint application on port 80 with a host header example: testing.testserver Open your hosts file (c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) and add a new entry: for the local machine: 127.0.0.1 testing.testserver or use your ip address for the test server 10.0.0.10 testing.testserver Then open a browser and navigate to http://testing.testserver If you want to test from your base PC into a VPC then add an entry to the hosts file of the base PC with the IP address of the VPC: something like: 10.0.0.10 testing.testserver Is this what you were looking for?Mike Smith TechTrainingNotes.blogspot.com

Maybe you have to configure alternate access mappings to work correctly (Content Query Webpart)
