Sharepoint calendar replication on different farm
Hello, i'm trying to setup a master and slave calendar architecture, where a moss calendar hosted on a server, is updated by users; the slave calendar is hosted on another server on a different farm, and should be a read-only copy. I'm using SPD codeplex workflow on many items in my moss installation, but copy items across different farms is not allowed. I'm thinking to 2 possibilities: - Exporting and importing the calendar library through stsadm (scheduled task or something like that) - Calling a web service on "on change" event, updating the slave calendar too. I have moss 2007 on windows 2003 R2 server. Any help will be appreciated Andrea

I do not think your first option is flexbile. The stsadm command should run at one of your server farm locally with local administrator permission. No matter which server the command runs, it is not easy to generate and copy the exported package from the other server farm. Option 2 should be the only way. But programming is involved and I do not know if it is possible to handle Recurrence event with web service. if you have any difficultes, please get further help in SharePoint - Development and Programming (pre-SharePoint 2010) Sincerely, Lambert Qin Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
