Sharepoint Views Synchronizing with Outlook
I have a Sharepoint Calendar set up and I created different Calendar Views based on company departments. The departments have their own current Outlook calendar and want to copy the information over to the Sharepoint claendar. the thing is can they? There is one Calendar List when I export the Calendar to Outlook it seems to only export everything together, all the "Views". Can anyone help with this? Thank you.

When synchronizing with Outlook it will pull all items since Outlook has no understanding of views. You do have the ability to create a filter on the calendar within Outlook, but I don't believe it is going to bring in any of your custom fields.SharePoint MVP | Developer | Administrator | Speaker-- Twitter -- Blog - http://nextconnect.blogspot.com

Thank you for your reply Mike. One other question I have is: I created one calendar with 6 or so views depending on product divisions. Since these views are not recognized in Outlook. Would it be best to make allcalendars separate so that each product division can easily move data from Outlook to Sharepoint? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I think you are better of with six calendars if each one wants to synchronize the particular events. There are some third party roll-up web parts that can allow you to aggregate multiple calendars into a central calendar. In 2010, the calendars support "Overlays" giving you the option of bringing in other SharePoint and Exchange calendars similar to what you are doing in Outlook.SharePoint MVP | Developer | Administrator | Speaker-- Twitter -- Blog - http://nextconnect.blogspot.com
