I have a sharepoint server on the child domain and users on this domain can long into it no problem. The Parent domain users are being prompted for a username and password. I woulike the child and parent to not prompt an authenticated user for credentials. Any help would be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance,

This is a security zone issue. The odds are that your users from the parent domain do not have the child domain set as Local Intranet in their IE security zones. As a result, IE is prompting them for credentials. For example, users from the child domain (child.main.domain.com) may have that domain set as Local Intranet. Users from the parent domain probably have it (main.domain.com) set as Local Intranet, but not the child domain. Have your parent domain users add the child domain to the Local Intranet security zone within IE and the problem will go away. I trust that answers your question...
