Sharepoint File Associations
Hi, We are having big problems with File Associations. What we want is for any file in a Document Library to open in the application that Explorer tells it to. Initially we had everything opening in Internet Explorer which means that it is Read Only. We have partially rectified this with a group policy that amends:- HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Word.Document.8\BrowserFlags HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Excel.Sheet.8\BrowserFlags HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Excel.Sheet.8\EditFlags HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\PowerPoint.Show.8\EditFlags HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\PowerPoint.Show.8\BrowserFlags The problem is with other filetypes. The behaviour appears to be random as to what it tries to do with the file, sometime even differing between when you are in Explorer View and when you are in Document View. Does anyone have any idea how Sharepoint determines how to handle non-office files? Is there a page where I can change this behaviour? Any insight / advice / documentation would be much appreciated!
