I am trying to use Sharepoint Designer's backup and restore functionality to move a site from one server to another. The backup seems to complete successfully, but when I go to restore thesite: It gives an error pls restore a backup in empty site. can any body tell me what will be the steps of restore site and sub-sites. Hi, you can use stsadm tool and export the site and import it on your new server.
