Sharepoint Designer.

I am trying to create a custom workflow for approval. I need the workflow to move from group to group after one approval. Right now it is moving from one person to the next in the group. I need it to move from one group to the next after one person from that group approves the item. Then it should move to the next group and after one person from that group approves it moves to the next and so on. Any suggestions on how to edit the workflow in desginer 2010 to get it working the way i need it to?

Thanks,

Which action are you using in your SharePoint Designer workflow?  If you're using the "start [approval or feedback] process" one, that's called the task process designer.  If you're using that, you can change the "expand groups" setting to "no".  This way, only one task will be assigned to each group.

    • After you've added the "start approval process" action to the workflow, notice that each action in the workflow has a little drop-down arrow all the way to the right when you hover over it.
    • Click that drop-down arrow on your action, and choose Properties.
    • Change ExpandGroups to "no".

I did this and it's still doing the same thing. It is making both each member of the group approve it. Am i suppose to copy the approval sharepoint and then modify it or make a reusable sharepoint out of scratch?

You can use the SharePoint OOTB Approval workflow to achieve this requirement.

While specifying the assignee, add a new stage and mention the next group.
