Sharepoint Custom View
Hi There, I have created a view that arranges all the documents within the list by groups. When the user opens the list they see the groups (Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, etc). When the user expandsd Monday for example they see all the files related to that day. This is working fine for every user except one. The just see all the documents within the list, it isn ot arranged by day. They have the same custom view selected as everyone else. Does anyojne have any idea as to why this is?? They also have the same permission on the list as everyone else. Thanks in advance, Hoogeebear.

Are they using the same browser? (and of course have they selected the same View?) 2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc. 2007 Books: WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.

HI Mike, Yes everyone is using the same browser (IE), as we all know MS don;'t you using other browsers with Sharepoint :-), and they also have the same view selected. I created another view with the same settings and it shows everything correctly for every user except this one user where it displays in the same format as the original.

The grouping uses java script to do the 'grouping' (and somehow it also remembers your previous view i.e. if you expanded one section, came out of the browser and went to the page it would have your group expanded or collapsed). Considering SharePoint uses so much java, and assuming everything else is working its a long shot - but have you checked the IE security settings for the associated web address zone? Hi, Yep I have checked the security settings for IE and all is ok. If I log into the portal as myself or any other user, there is no problem but when I sign in as the user that is having the problem, the list reverts back to the list of docs, not arranged by day. Really really strange. Updated Java and still no joy.

So logging onto the same PC as the user - it works for you, but not for her? OR does it work on your PC (and everyone elses') apart from hers? Have you tried logging on to her PC to try (if in the case of the second 'OR'.)Regards, Aaron www.aaron-rendell.co.uk

No matter what PC the user logs onto, they have the same problem. If I log onto their PC with my profile or any other users profile there are no problems at all. It is clearly a profile issue. I recreated their AD user profile but the problem still persists. I have run out of ideas at this stage.

Is the user set up for roaming profiles? Does the user have the same permissions? Could you try elevating them, to test? (permissions shouldn't have anything to do with it, but that and profiles is really all that changes from machine to machine).Regards, Aaron www.aaron-rendell.co.uk
