Sharepoint Capabilities
Hi Danny, The short answer is yes, SharePoint can do these things more or less out of the box with some customization. The best advice I can give you right now however would be to contact a Microsoft partner and work with them to define your goals and develop an appropriate solution. Update Here is a link to Microsoft's partner search tool for SharePoint, PinPoint. I'm not sure how complete this directory is as I can't find several gold partners that I would expect would be returned. Jason

I work for a school district and we are looking at moving towards online forms. Can I use Sharepoint to create employee contracts. I would have different type of contracts for different type of employees. Also different type of employees would approve their contracts at different times of the year. Also can sharepoint be setup in a way where people can view who has or has not approved their contract? Can our HR staff see everyone. I know this is kind of vague but a workflow would be needed where HR would approve the contracts to be released. Department Administrators would then notify employees. Department administrators need a way to see who has approved a contract. And HR needs a way to see which departments still have employees without a contract. Can Sharepoint do these things?

Hi Danny, SharePoint can do the things you mentioned. You can use the SharePoint document library to store your contract files (e.g. word, pdf,etc ), use approval workflow to send email to approvers and use expiracy policy to delay the workflow start time. You can set different permissions on different users whether they can see the sites, libraries, itmes and columns, you can configure as your requirement. ThanksDaniel Yang TechNet Community Support
