Sharepoint 2013 site not allowing list item attachments
We recently moved our development site from one SharePoint 2013 farm to another.  The site migrated successfully and everything looks fine, however there is only one item that has changed.  This has me completely stumped but if we attempt to attach a file to a 'calendar' list item or any list for that matter it comes back with the error the file cannot contain special characters.  If I do the exact same thing in the previous farm it works without issue.  There are no special characters in the file name, what is even stranger is in the new farm if I use Firefox it works.  Only Internet Explorer 11 and Google Chrome seem to be the issue.  I'm not sure where the issue lies, but i've researched and researched with no luck.  Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi Brad- taking a shot in the dark, but it sounds like some code either got lost in translation or some gibberish got added during your migration. Does it happen with only existing lists, or if you create a new list, too? I'd suggest looking at/comparing the code to see what has changed. Another thing you can try is to open the list in SP Designer and save it back to SP to see if that resolves the issue.

Hi Cameron,

Thats the thing I stood up a new site collection under a new web app and content database, the behaviour was the same. If I create a new list as well it happens, only in IE11 and Chrome. I have no issues in Firefox. Thanks for the reply much appreciated.

The only other thing I can recommend is to run IE 11 in compatability mode. You should also reset your itnernet options and see if that makes a difference.
