Hi,

I have created a site column of type text and managed property got created for it Eg Column1

Now, I can search this column using contains operator (:) Like  Column1:Test

It working on contains(:) operator. But Its not providing any result for equal condition 

Like

Column1=Test

What is the reason ? 

I have enabled "Complete Matching" Property for this managed property and did Full Crawl.

Its now providing result on equal condition also but i don't think that this step is necessary for equal condition to work.

Please let me know how to have equal condition workable without this step? Please suggest
